I think that we showed how dedicated we are to our program. There was not a hitch in the entire tournament. The scoring and bracketing was great, the hospitality room was world class and the table workers were professional and diligent in their jobs.I heard no complaints from anyone about how we ran our tournament. The Jv kids did a great job for us and we were actually packed up and out the door by 7:00 Saturday night(very efficient). I hope that everyone enjoyed thr weekend and once again THANKS, it coulnt have been done without you guys!!!

| | Name: | Coach Chesbro | | Subject: | 06-07 Season (01/02/2007 08:03:28) | Comments: | I appologize for not having sent in more communications this season. Seems like we just got started and all of the sudden, it's time to start talking about the regional and State Tournaments. As any of you who follow our program know, this has been painful year. We knew that we would struggle, dual wise, with a young and inexperienced team, and that has come true. We are now 5-5 in duals with one to go vs. Muskogee. We probably won a couple of duals that we werent expecting to, so that is a positive. We also struggled with trying to keep our best 14 wrestlers all on the mat at the same time. Injuries and weight problems, kept us out of a few duals or we could actually have a better record. Our tournament team has done what we expected. Ky, Chris, and Walker have lead us, like we knew would happen, but we have had some kids step up and wrestle well where we werent sure they would. Ben marks, Austin Standage, Tyler Pate, and Earl Sparrow have place in some tournaments and won matches in which they were probably underdogs. That shows us that we are still on the right track and our team is getting stronger and closer to where we need to be. Our goal now is to qualify as many of these guys as possible for the State Tournament. Some of them may be a stretch to place, but they need to know that they are among the State caliber wrestlers. Hope to see a lot of Blue and Gold in the stands at Regionals and State, pushing us on toward a great finish!

| | Name: | Coach Chesbro | | Subject: | 06-07 Season (11/15/2006 7:04:34 AM) | Comments: | Well, here we go again. It's time to start thinking about wrestling. Our Football team had a great year and now it is our turn to see how we stack up against the state's best. As usuall, we have a stacked schedule, including most of the top teams in class 5A.
We will have a pretty young team, probably starting about 7 soph.'s. We do, though, have a solid group of returners, including 2 State Champions, and a 2 time state placer, plus 3 or 4 other returning starters. All of the young kids have at least some varsity experience at the Jr High level. I'm looking forward to seeing if they can step up and compete at this level. It should be an exciting season.
Get a schedule and find a time to come and see us compete.

| | Name: | Coach Chesbro | | Subject: | All over (28/02/2006 10:47:18) | Comments: | It's hard to believe that the season is already over. It was one of the quickest that I can remember. We had a lot of success and a lot great excitement. for the second time in three seasons, we came away from the state tournament with 3 champions. Our four finalists were the most of any team. Still, we could only manage a second place finish. Ponca had a great consolation session and came back to beat us by 6 1/2 points. It was the most exciting finish in a while. Congratulations to the Wilcats.
We also managed to win the academic state championship, we have some really gifted students in our program. Walking out of the Fairgrounds with those two big trophies was pretty cool. I would like to take this oppotunity to thank all of the people who came out all season long to support us. I hope that we gave you your money's worth. Hope you have a great off season and we hope to see you again next season. Chez
| | Name: | Coach Chesbro | | Subject: | Push toward the end (03/02/2006 10:35:33) | Comments: | Since last time I logged in, we have had a lot of interesting things go on. We dropped our first district title in 5 years, yet won our first tournament since regionals last year. Our dual season has come to an end, with some good and some bad. We finished at 7-4 while losing to only three teams, Ponca, Union and Muskogee. We were competitive in all of the loses with the exception of the Muskogee dual where we sent, basically, a JV team. The other loses could have easily gone the other way with the turn of only one match.
Oh well, we cant get them back now, and we lost to some great teams. Our tournament in Perry last weekend, the Big 4+5, was great. Our kids battled tooth and nail and clawed out a 1/2 point win over an extremely tough field, including Ponca, Union, Muskogee, and Perry. This has raised our ranking in one poll two #2 behind Mid West City. Ironically, we have learned that we are being sent to the 5A west regional again where we will face the #1 Bombers. Should be a great tournament with a lot on the line. Come on over to Yukon on the 17th and 18th and see how many kids that we can qualify for the State Tournament.

| | Name: | Coach Chesbro | | Subject: | Tough couple of weeks (1/13/2006 6:50:33 AM) | Comments: | Hey,
It's been a while since I have posted here on the web site. If you have been keeping up, you know that we are in the midst of a pretty tough stretch of competition right now. We competed well at the Jenks Tournament, placing second, defeated Sand Springs, in a district dual, and wrestled Ponca City, getting our first loss of the season. We were a couple of breaks away from being in the match at the end. But with two over time losses and some tough fought matches, we fell 39-24. The kids fought hard and didnt give anything that wasnt earned. We can hold our heads high. Now we leave for the Sapulpa Tournament, one that has shaped up to be as tough as I have seen it since we started going again a few years back. The #2,3,4,5, 5A teams are there as well as many other quality teams from different classes. Hope to see you there. Chez
