Pioneers Place 4, Crown 3, and take home OW honors:
What an awesome weekend . . . not only did the Pioneers place four people in the top four, but every State Finalist came away with the gold medal, including the Outstanding Wrestler in Class 5A. We have a lot of pictures and content to upload, but the pictures and full write up will not be posted until tonight, 2/25/2008. Pioneers Push Three Into Finals:
In the first day of competition at the 2008 Class 5A State Championships, Stillwater's Jared Elmore (103), Ky Corley (130), and Chris Perry (189) all collected two consecutive wins to advance to Saturday night's State Championship match. Austin Standage (140) collected a 4-1 decision win over Kenny Wheel of Ponca City, before dropping a tough 5-3 loss to Drew Hill. Finishing out the day for Stillwater was Heavyweight T. Mike Walker (285), who ended our his season today with a 25-12 record. A more detailed break down of the tournament events will be posted after the State Championships.
